For over 50 year, Los Angeles radio station KJLH as been a staple for many Los Angelo's, predominately in the African American community, the independently owned and operated KJLH, celebrated 50 years. In 2015, radio announcers joined owner Stevie Wonder to celebrate the 50 year milestone with a performance for Stevie, and other guest entertainers.
My time at KJLH during the 70's, 80's and a brief time in the 90's was memorable, so it gives me hope the station will be around for years to come.
During my tenure, I've had the privilege to meet some of the world more popular entertainers of today. Individuals who launched their career with the help of KJLH as young artist like: Chaka Khan, Al Jareau, Barry White, Randy Crawford, Deniece Williams, Minnie Riperton, and Luther Vandross to name a few.
The memories at KJLH will last a lifetime.
